Design Assist
We uphold the original design intention in every project we assist on. By working closely with the architect early on in development, Ferra Designs can guide the details towards economical and manufacturable solutions without diluting the aesthetic vision.
Design Development
Utilizing SolidWorks technology provides craftsman and client alike, the ability to visualize completed assemblies, details and sections with infinite viewing angles using interactive 3-D models. Costly mistakes can be avoided and aesthetic decisions, difficult to foresee can be made prior to fabrication. The unification between our roots - handcrafted artistry, and our present capabilities - technology based fabrication, is groundwork for excellence in our product.

Architectural Mockups
Our scale architectural mockups give our developers, craftsmen, and clients an understanding of the aesthetic and mechanical qualities of materials and finishes, before starting into production. These studies ensure that the client's aesthetic vision is carried through every project from start to finish without deviation.

Manufacturing
Ferra Designs puts the latest manufacturing technology in the hands of the best trained craftsmen in the industry. With direct output from 3D software models to CNC processing on the shop floor, no resolution of data or accuracy is lost in our process.
OUR TECHNOLOGY
Laser Cutting
Our Trumpf TruLaser 1030 fiber solid-state laser can process a variety of materials. It's a highly flexible tool that can cut virtually every contour. The beam adjusts to cut metal of various thickness up to 3/4”.
5-Axis Machining
The DMS 5-Axis Moving Table CNC is a high-precision machine. It's used for trimming, drilling, contouring, pattern making and architectural sculpting. It provides ultimate flexibility in part design.
CNC Machining
To work out an economical plan for part machining we use Solidcam software which operates within Solidworks. Proving machining in the computer eliminates material waste and saves time.
CNC Bending / Brake Forming
Our 191 ton Trumpf TruBend 5170 press brake provides the highest standard of accuracy and repeatability in the industry. With bends up to 14' long, and a 7-axis CNC controlled back gauge, Ferra Designs stands at the absolute forefront of what is possible in high tolerance complex metal forming.
Fabrication / Welding
With certifications in Stick, MIG and TIG welding and extensive training in high tolerance fabrication, we successfully take on projects with any degree of specification or scrutiny. From a single piece of furniture that needs the skilled hands of an artisan, to a large scale project requiring structural experience, all jobs are treated to the same attention to detail, accuracy and sound engineering practice.

Installation Management
We specialize in complex installation means and methods. It is during initial project development when we plan for what will happen on site. All field procedures are outlined in advance and custom rigging fixtures are engineered and manufactured in tandem with the project.
